Harris County Cultural Arts Center is located in the heart of unincorporated East Harris County.

Our annual Dia Del Nino event aligns with our mission to extend access to the arts to our community.

Since 1925, Día del niño, or the Day of the Child, has grown as an annual celebration throughout Mexico and Latin Countries on April . This day began as a way to recognize children and the implications of child labor. Dia Del Nino pays homage to their importance in society and endorses their well-being.

The 2022 Dia Del Nino event was sponsored by UNIDOS, the Latin organization within the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, community member Luz Lopez, and Sheldon Road McDonald’s.

Over 300 children attended and had the opportunity to participate in painting a piece of art that was auctioned at the Mexican Consulate auction benefiting Ukraine.
