ACA Volunteer Program
Are your dreams filled with thoughts of WHAT COULD BE? Do you often think of doing SOMETHING BIG, something to make your community better? When you become an ACA volunteer, that’s exactly what happens! You get to improve life for your family, friends, and neighbors in your community…. One event, one project at a time!
ACA’s mission is to increase arts access for underserved communities and to preserve, share, and celebrate the histories and cultures of Black people. Our programs are indeed high-quality, engaging events, but there’s so much more to it than that!
We give a voice and a platform to communities and artists who are often marginalized and underrepresented. Additionally, as the sole source for the arts and culture in Unincorporated East Harris County, we are bringing about transformative change within our communities – increasing economic opportunity, advancing social justice, improving quality of life, creating understanding, and building connectedness through shared experiences and celebrations. It’s a BIG VISION, and we can’t accomplish it without you.
Volunteer at ACA today and be Part of Something Big!
AMBASSADORS:
Employ your social influence and connections to introduce people to the organization, provide organizational advancement opportunities for the Executive Director through introductions to key individuals and potential donors, invitations to high profile events, etc.
BENEFACTORS:
Make financial contributions to help sustain the organization. For those interested in creating a legacy, contact our Executive Director to discuss opportunities for Corporate Branding and Naming Rights.
Preparing for the Show:
To maximize your volunteer experience, ACA provides a one-hour training session at sign-up and a Run of Show logistics meeting before each event. The Run of Show meeting may last anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour. Volunteers are asked to include these meetings in considering whether to volunteer.
ARMORBEARERS:
These are critical team members who help us shoulder the day-to-day operational load. There are two categories:
Designated Armorbearers: These volunteers work specified hours and/or days in a selected role on an ongoing basis. NOTE: Designated Volunteer Opportunities Require a Background check.
2. Events-Based Armorbearers: These volunteers provide support for specific events
Event-Based Volunteer Opportunities are available via email at info@theandersoncenter.org.
